Topwater action was decent early with lots of blow ups and fish to 20" taking Super Spooks.

Capt. James Cunningham reported excellent action with mild conditions overnight. Despite a waxing moon, solid flounder were taken in shin deep water.

No two ways about the amount of work involved bringing numerous systems online and I've got to take my hat off to the crew here at The Lodge. Despite shipping and mechanical issues, we managed to bring two of the new Bayou Class rooms online for guests of Dean Contracting.

Redfish have been spotty and then Capt. Chris Cady took the "spotty" out of the equation when he stumbled into huge schools of both Redfish and Black Drum positioned on a very shallow sand flat.

Trout for the tournament were all above 20" and the smallest Redfish between the two entries was 26.5". Congratulations to all our Babes!

That's taking the fish to seldom frequented locations in what used to be "ultra shallow" and unfishable locations as they effort to get shallower and shallower. Even crazier, we've been running into a few Trout pushing 23" in the back reaches as well mixing with Redfish and Black Drum.

Capt. James Cunningham indicated that the "set up" is looking good heading into Summer. Capt. Chris Cady hit a home run on the airboat as overcast conditions had him struggling to find the fish with the tides so high. He managed to limit on Redfish but there were no Black Drum to be found.
