Focus is still heavily on Trout stocks as we dig deeper into warming waters. Area shorelines have been a consistent retreating to deeper shell venues as things start to warm up during the day. Wade fishing and boat fishing versatility is a big help and a lot of fun taking in the best of all worlds. Boat fishing is focusing on deeper venues from the get go with tide movement squarely in focus, one direction or the other, some water movement is needed at present.
Flounder Gigging
Zero to hero depending on wind and water conditions. Capt. James Cunningham reported excellent action with mild conditions overnight. Despite a waxing moon, solid flounder were taken in shin deep water.
Bait Camps Struggling With Freshwater
Freshwater is reaking havoc on area bait stocks and "bait camps" are day to day, minute by minute. Big South winds have recided and that's allowing freshwater to push toward the South shoreline and out the ICW. I'd be loading some "artificial back-up" if thinking about making a trip; Redfish are steadily hard to locate at the moment and slick water isn't helping us getting them figured out.
