Fishing Report - Trout On Shell, Reds In The Back Lakes
From shell-studded bay reefs to the remote back lakes of Matagorda Island, fishing continues to show off everything the mid-coast is known for. From family outings to team-building escapes, folks are leaving the daily grind behind and breathing in some of the best salt air on the Texas coast.
Trout fishing has been on fire with guides reporting fast limits and steady action over area shell pads, especially as winds have started backing down and opening up big water. Capt. Chris Cady, running airboat trips, has been locked in on solid Redfish deep in the back lakes. Fish have been schooling in clearing water and blasting baits with some pushing the upper edges of the slot and beyond.
Tides are beginning to rebound with Gulf low-pressure systems drifting inland, setting the stage for strong July fishing ahead.
We've got lots and lots of great fishing ahead of us. So if you're planning a trip, get started HERE.
