Castaway Lodge Seadrift Report
By Capt. Kris Kelley
Sponsored by: Mercury Marine; Air Ranger Airboats; Haynie Bay Boats; Baysport Marine Victoria; Castaway Rods; JL Marine; Pure Fishing; and, Bob's Machine Shop.

We are just about to wrap up construction at the lodge and we'd like to thank everyone for the feedback and patience with our progress. We have added some fine detail to our outstanding platform including drystack stone and stucco work; 100's of board feet of rough cedar; 1,000 sf of additional flatwork; a massive bar and outdoor kitchen/grilling area; and a freestanding fireplace. This work is a big "Thank You" to all of our clients that have chosen us as their "home away from home".
Fishing Scene
We are seeing some signs of life in the Trout arena with only the past few days offering fishable conditions on broader shell reef environs. Capt. Chris Cady managed to hit low teens boat fishing with PCS with longtime guests from Austin. Action on live Croaker left alot to be desired on the first day outing in terrible conditions boat fishing. Wade fishing live Croaker is a tad better but still no big homeruns reported by Capt. Jake.
Back Lakes
Slick offs of late have slowed the bite on Redfish dramatically with plenty of fish laying up lock jaw and staring us down. Give us wind and May into June is one of those transitional times that can really test your tenacity.
You can bet there is a lot more great fishing on the horizon and we hope you will allow Castaway Lodge to take you to it. Come see us when you get a chance.
