Big winds continue to dominate the theme in our fishing reports but we may be on the verge of a more normal transition to more light and variable. Redfish and Black Drum continue to support our success while we struggle with the right approach to Trout fishing. Live Croaker has been responsible for poor numbers of fish thus far. The clock is running out for any successful run or string of days we may be able to put together and blistering winds aren't helping the learning curve.
That is contrasted by continued success with Redfish and Black Drum which went ballistic in the big winds this week. Trout approaches just got hammered but Redfish managed to put smiles where they belong. That and we are also starting see small schools of Jack Crevalle in less than a foot of water. Now that will wake you up. Check out the picture of a 40" fish caught on the airboat in just those environs on Saturday.
Lodge News
Phase I construction at the lodge is complete and we are starting Phase II on Sunday as guests leave. That's going to involve additional stone work on the main lodge. Feedback on our initial phase of construction has been stunning and we love to hear it.
This is a great place and our guests love our people and that's a backdrop for a good time. If you think you might want to make a run down here, we'd love to have you so come see us when you get a chance!
