Kayakers 911 In Winds to 35MPH

With Low Pressure dancing across the Panhandle, big bad winds continue to dominate the landscape.  Heading to the ramp today, Capt. Pete Gray had to come to the aid of some Kayakers that just couldn't get any traction and reached the point of exhaustion some 2 minutes by boat from safety.

Over the weekend, Capt. Doug definately "dialed in" the fish over the weekend with solid limits of Redfish coming to hand for the Mike L. Bachelor Party on Saturday.  Capt. James E. worked up Redfish to 27.5" wading soft plastics over sand/grass along with a few Trout/Flounder.  Lance S. took the pot for biggest Redfish in the slot with that "door slamming" 27.5" monster.  He said "I missed him at first and with a quick retrieve slammed the lure right back at him and hooked up immediately".  The crew fishing  with me in the back country managed to go deep on Redfish "taking the pot" for most fish caught in the "slot".  Congratulations to Mike on the upcoming nuptials and it was certainly a pleasure fishing with him and his friends from Blackwater Hunting & Retrievers and TNT Outfitters.

On Sunday, Capt. Doug set the pace again finding a strong concentration of Redfish while coordinating our other boats to full limits for the guests of Jim K on an "employee appreciation" trip.  Jim said "I've never seen so many happy faces in my life, nice job"!

Despite the challenging winds, fishing continues strong and the higher water levels are a definate plus.  We've got more water in the bays at this point than I've seen all year.  That should set the stage for more great fishing here in May.  Come see us!
