Filming "Killin N Grillin" At The Lodge

In advance of our two episode filiming of Killin N Grillin on location here at The Lodge, I broke out the airboat and hit the back country on Matagorda Island with Jeremy B. and guests. The guests came up just short of their limits with an abundance of hook pulls and a few break offs. Size ranged to 26" and the back country had some rather large pockets of gasoline looking fresh water runoff.

"Killin N Grillin"

The first ever "one hour" outdoor hunting/fishing and cooking show filmed it's first two episodes with us here at The Lodge. First episode features Capt. Jake leading an alligator hunt followed by knee bending Alligator Sauce Piquante. The host Randal Reeder and guest celebrity and comedian Jon Reep aka "The Grin Reeper" from Last Comic Standing fame were a real joy to be around. The second episode features Texas Music artist Hobson Smith and host Randal tackling Redfish aboard our airboat in the back country of Matagorda Island. Redfish on the half shell is on the menu for episode two so don't miss it. The show kicks off in January of 2011 on the Pursuit Channel.

I've done a number of outdoors shows but this "first ever one hour" show and it had a crew and cast at an entirely different level. I was touched by all the personalities from Hollywood to Florida coming together for the production. I can assure you that "you have no idea what it takes to pull this together". From my heart, I would like to thank the cast and crew along with all the behind the scenes support including the best gator men in the business Capt. Jake; Capt. Cory; Capt. Kevin; my wife Wendi for an extraodinary amount of patience; and, Tim T. and Ricki.

What's Going On?

Today marks the official end of alligator season and a continuation of "living the dream" here on the middle Texas Gulf Coast chasing Trout & Redfish and gearing up for the 2010/2011 Texas Waterfowl Season.

Stay safe out there!
