Castaway Lodge Seadrift Report
By Capt. Kris Kelley
From the shallow bays to the back lakes we've been enjoying some great weather and excellent opportunities to tackle top tier Redfish action; combination trips for Teal; Alligator hunting; and, dove hunting.
Since Hurricane Ingrid ventured into the Gulf a couple of weeks ago, we have been buried in high water. With no significant cool fronts coming to pass here in September, we are looking to October for the the catalysts that will push some water out and start the bait migration to the Gulf.
This has got Redfish scattered with schooling action taking place periodically offering strong action and big catches. Between times have been spotty but still productive for guests looking for the big pull that only Redfish can offer.
We're keeping our eyes to the skies in October looking for cool fronts to drop some water out of the bays and give us some kind of catalyst toward stronger Trout fishing. We've got lots of great fishing ahead, come join us.
