Castaway Lodge Seadrift Report
By Capt. Kris Kelley
Whether wading or boat fishing, it's a dig and dial right now thump and bumping as low water and Westerly winds wreak havoc on the fish boxes. Reportedly, there were over a hundred boat trailers at Charlies Bait Camp today. At 2:00pm, the biologist mentioned a box of 7 Trout was the best checked in so far.
We managed a little better than that but it there are some nail biters. We picked up a half dozen grass Trout feet dry and them managed to roll out some solids working one of the last straws of fishable water over less than favorite structure. We came in short of our 20 with 14 to 20".
Wade fishing reports are somewhat more encouraging at present with Capt. James Cunningham taking limits over sand/grass working live bait over sand pockets with fish ranging to 22".
Looking To Purchase:
Southeasterly wind direction less than 25 knots; more water; and, some more rain. Pre-owned is fine.
