In discussing the schedule, we still have 09/14, 18, 19, 21, 24, and 26 thru 30th available for hunts at this time. So we've still got some room if you're looking to make a hunt. These trips easily combine with some awesome fishing and wing shooting for early Teal and/or Dove.

The wind had settled out that morning and decent tides brought greening water over prime structure in perfect timing with the water entry. That led the guests to a barn burner and some heavy fish boxes with board bending smiles to all.

Capt. James Cunningham said "timing was everything and you had to be in the right place at the right time while eyeballing tide catalysts and even waiting on them if necessary".

Capt. James Cunnigham reported full limits of Trout on a two boat trip with Brian S. and guests on Monday as things settled out a bit. After that it was back to big winds and big tides rising as TS Cindy approaches the La. coastaline. Working mud/grass in protected locations had decent catches of Trout and a very few Redfish.

Mother Nature has pulled the curtain back uncloaking concentrations of Trout over big water open bay structure and the fishing couldn't get much better. Solid Redfish have been holding to the same structure in tight on shell reefs with scattered "tournament class" fish preferring sand/mud of late.

Heading for Deeper Water
Posted By Kris/ In Castaway Lodge Fishing / Tuesday, March 28, 2017
Heading for the big transitions in April and we're expecting a great Summer. Bay waters have greened up bigtime in the last few days on pumping South winds and water levels have come up big time toward a more seasonal Spring pattern.
Night Visions & Full Moon Decisions

Combine the challenges of a full moon with a big water fall out and then put a 30 mph wind on top of that and I promise you'll have your hands full figuring that out. When that happens you better hope you're lucky and good!
