Bait Surge, Fish Ranging

Castaway Lodge Seadrift Report
By Capt. Kris Kelley

Lots of fish showing up after the front according to Capt. Chris Cady coming off an airboat redfishing trip yesterday. Big schools of Black Drum and Redfish were noted on outside beaches looking to push into the back country. Chances are they are ranging back and forth as temperatures fluctuate with weather. Some reports of Trout schooling up over area shell reefs but you've got to have a decent weather window to hit them presently. Soft plastics and shrimp imitations tipped with light jig heads of 1/8 and 1/16oz. are doing the job.

It looks like the weather is shaping up nicely for the weekend and that should make for tight lines with our guests from South Texas.
